Illustration 2 Portfolio

The last assignment for this semester was to illustrate font without the use of tracing or typing. I took this fun approach with the name "Chip Tune". I wanted to make a fictional band that used Nintendo games and systems to make a remix of musics and tones that the games already had. Inspiration coming from my childhood with video games and Nintendo especially. It also took more time than I had anticipated with all the little game cartridges and accessories.

Super Hero "M" (KABLAM)

This was an exciting assignment to create. We took our word from the last assignment and applied them to a superhero themed scene. I don't have a name for my superheroin but the techniques I learned really made this piece pop out with that comic book flare.

Kiwano Melon Turtle holding a Pumpkin

This one was my favorite assignment this semester. Here we had to mix a few images to create one image. I used photoshop to make a quick rough draft of my kiwano melon turtle. Then used illustrator to create the body and facial features. I gave him a pumpkin to hold so show some scale comparison.

Our second assignment was to create illustrations for Mardi Gras Posters. Not only did I have to make illustrations, but I also had to make edit others materials to make a poster for my Page Layout 2 class. I came up with small items and backgrounds for my fellow students to utilize.

10 x 10 Grid Design

This was my first assignment of the semester. This consisted of making a ten by ten grid and making small designs in each one inch square. After making all one hundred of them, we choose some of the squares and had to make an image with them. I reflected on my childhood with traditions and made an outside oven with a bread in the middle. The sky on top and below the oven are grains and soil that create the bread.
